How deleting works in GoSwipe
A left swipe in GoSwipe does not delete anything. It adds the photo or video to the Bin. When you open the Bin and confirm, iOS shows its own delete confirmation, and the items then sit in Recently Deleted for 30 days. That is two decisions before anything leaves your library, and a third chance to recover it.
Swipewipe's App Store listing does not describe what happens after a delete swipe, so we cannot compare this step. Check how it behaves in a small test before you clean a large batch.
Where Swipewipe is the better fit
- Memory browsing. On This Day, a home screen widget, streaks and a world map are central to its listing. GoSwipe has no map or On This Day view.
- Enhancement. Swipewipe lists AI enhancement for old or blurry photos. GoSwipe does not edit photos.
- More devices. Its listing names iPad and Apple Vision as well as iPhone.
- No sign-in mentioned. GoSwipe requires you to sign in; Swipewipe's listing does not mention an account.
Where GoSwipe is the better fit
- A reviewable queue. Nothing is deleted until you confirm from the Bin and in the iOS dialog.
- Free duplicate cleanup. Duplicates groups exact copies and look-alikes, marks the best one as Suggested and is free with or without Pro. See how to delete duplicate and similar photos.
- Tidy Shelf. A 90-second matching game that clears look-alikes, with a few free levels a day.
- Videos mode. Plays clips with sound so you can spot heavy files fast. See how to find and delete large videos.
GoSwipe's limits: sign-in is required, the free swipe allowance ends and then needs Pro (weekly or yearly), and Duplicates and Tidy Shelf are iPhone only.
Privacy labels: what each one declares
Both apps declare data used for tracking on their App Store privacy labels. GoSwipe's tracking-related identifiers apply only if you tap Allow in the iOS prompt, and only installs, sign-ups and subscriptions go to Meta; photos, videos, faces and location never leave your iPhone. Swipewipe's label lists Identifiers, Usage Data and Other Data as used for tracking, and Purchases and Diagnostics among other collected data. Read both labels, and our safety checklist, before you grant photo access.
Free to start
Try the Bin before you trust any swipe.
Swipe a few dozen photos, open the Bin and see exactly what would be deleted. Nothing happens until you confirm.
Frequently asked questions
Is GoSwipe or Swipewipe free?
Both are free to download and both have paid plans. GoSwipe gives a starter swipe allowance and a free Duplicates view; Pro is weekly or yearly. Swipewipe lists in-app subscriptions. Check the current limits in each app.
Which one is safer to delete photos with?
GoSwipe queues deletes in a Bin and then needs an iOS confirmation, and deleted items stay in Recently Deleted for 30 days. Swipewipe's listing does not describe its delete flow, so test it with a few photos first.
Does Swipewipe have a duplicate finder like GoSwipe?
Its listing says it helps you find similar photos, blurry shots and old screenshots. GoSwipe's Duplicates view groups exact copies and look-alikes, marks a Suggested best photo in each group, and is free.
Do I need an account for GoSwipe?
Yes. GoSwipe asks you to sign in with Apple (Google may also be offered). It stores an account ID, an email when the provider shares one, subscription status and swipe counts, not your photos.
Does either app work on iPad?
Swipewipe's listing names iPad and Apple Vision. GoSwipe is for iPhone.
